Interested in adopting from Cedar Bend Humane Society?
Adopters with approved applications are welcome to stop in to meet with adoptable pets or make a 1-on-1 appointment with an Adoption Counselor.
To check on the status of your application or to make an appointment, please contact our adoption team at 319-232-6887 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Those with an approved application can put an 'Adoption Pending' status on one animal for 24 hours when setting an appointment.
Interested adopters are able to fill out an application on-site with no appointment. Those with appointments will have priority over walk-in adopters, so please be patient with our adoption staff as they assist the public as quickly as they are able.
In the best interest of our animals and to limit guests, we are not accepting general visitors at this time.

To adopt a pet from the Cedar Bend Humane Society you must:
Have a valid identification with your current address.
Have the stability and the means, (financial and emotional) to care for the pet for the rest of its life. This could be as long as twenty years.
Be 21 (and have proof). If you are not 21, the head of your household (parent, guardian) must be present to sign the adoption agreement, or be reachable by phone to consent to the adoption.
If you live with others, they must be with you, or reachable by phone, so we can confirm the pet is welcome in your home.
Be sure to like Cedar Bend Humane Society’s Facebook page to watch for updates and new adoptable animals! Questions can be directed to our adoption team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CBHS is determined to place animals into loving homes while continuing their emphasis on safety. Please consider opening your heart and home to a shelter pet in need.
We look forward to introducing you to your next best friend soon!
