Adoption Counselor, Part Time
Cedar Bend Humane Society is looking for energetic and outgoing passionate animal advocates to join our part-time Adoption Counselor team! Adoption Counselors are the smiling faces that match adoptable pets with new families. You must be capable of handling large dogs and a variety of breeds and animals, have strong customer service skills, and work as a team member.
Work hours can vary between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 25-30 hours per week. Work shifts vary between Tuesday - Sunday, weekend shifts are mandatory. Other Adoption Counselor job duties include, but are not limited to, caring for and cleaning kennels, cleaning the adoption center, data entry tasks, and assisting in other areas as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. We are looking for self-motivated individuals that want to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals in our community!

Medical Assistant, Part Time
Cedar Bend Humane Society is seeking a compassionate, dedicated Medical Assistant to join our life-saving team!
Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for meaningful work where every day matters? Join our mission to provide exceptional medical care to homeless shelter pets while helping them find their forever families.
Position Details
- Schedule: Part-time, 25-30 hours weekly
- Days: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Hours: Hours will vary but must be able to work between 8am-6pm in 8-hour shifts
- Pay: $14-$16 per hour
- Start Date: Must be available to start by September 1, 2025
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer vaccinations and medications to shelter animals
- Provide medical treatment and daily care for stray and adoptable pets
- Conduct behavioral assessments to help animals find perfect matches
- Perform wellness exams on adoptable animals
- Work alongside shelter veterinarians to carry out treatment plans
- Restrain animals safely during medical procedures and examinations
- Communicate medical information clearly to potential adopters
- Handle clerical duties related to animal medical records

Dog Kennel Attendant, Part Time
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working dog lover to join our team as a Dog Kennel Attendant! This hands-on position involves caring for dogs of all breeds, personalities, and sizes while maintaining a sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment for their health and welfare.
As a Dog Kennel Attendant, you will work directly with dogs while supporting our mission to place animals in lifelong, loving homes. This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, dependable, and passionate about canine welfare.
Position Details
- Schedule: Part-time, 20-30 hours weekly
- Weekends and some holidays included
- Hours: Hours will vary but must be able to work between 8am-6pm
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain dog kennels and housing areas following disease control protocols
- Provide appropriate food, water, bedding, and toys to dogs daily
- Monitor dog health and behavior, immediately reporting concerns to management
- Wash dog dishes and manage laundry duties
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and management
Additional Responsibilities
- Walk dogs and provide daily exercise and outdoor time
- Clean and maintain outdoor kennel spaces and play yards
- Bathe dogs as needed for health and adoption preparation
- Prepare and provide enrichment activities to reduce stress and promote mental stimulation
- Manage and organize dog supplies and equipment
- Provide courteous customer service to adopters, surrenderers, volunteers, and the public
- Assist in other departments as requested by management

Cat & Small Animal Attendant, Part Time

As a Cat & Small Animal Attendant, you will work directly with felines and small animals while supporting our mission to place animals in lifelong, loving homes. This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, dependable, and passionate about feline and small animal welfare.
Position Details
- Schedule: Part-time, 20-30 hours weekly
- Weekends and some holidays included
- Hours: Hours will vary but must be able to work between 8am-6pm
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain cat kennels, cages, and small animal housing areas following disease control protocols
- Provide appropriate food, water, bedding, and toys to cats and small animals daily
- Monitor animal health and behavior, immediately reporting concerns to management
- Wash cat and small animal dishes and manage laundry duties
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and management
Additional Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain cat rooms and small animal areas
- Manage litter boxes and maintain proper sanitation standards
- Prepare and provide species-appropriate enrichment activities to reduce stress
- Handle socialization activities for cats and kittens when appropriate
- Manage and organize cat and small animal supplies
- Assist with basic grooming and health maintenance as needed
- Provide courteous customer service to adopters, surrenderers, volunteers, and the public
- Assist in other departments as requested by management
