Dear friends of Cedar Bend Humane Society,
Thank you for your patience and support during this challenging time. All of the staff at Cedar Bend Humane Society is working diligently to implement new protocols and measures to ensure that we can continue giving the homeless animals in our community the care they deserve. Our focus will be to continue to provide our animals with top-notch care while prioritizing the health and safety of our staff and the community.
Here are updated changes that we have made to our programs and services offered: UPDATED 12/13/2020
>>> Cedar Bend Humane Society has resumed all services with further safety precautions in place. We ask that the only visitors at this time be those using our shelter services or those adopting with an approved application and appointment. Donations can be left safely inside our entry-way of the Adoption Building. Thank you for your continued understanding and support!
We would not exist without the continued support of our amazing community. We appreciate each and every person who takes the time to share our stories, gives even a single dollar to help fund our mission, selflessly gives any time or effort to assist us in the work we do, and opens their hearts and homes to rescue animals in need. CBHS is grateful to be a part of the Cedar Valley, and we hope to restore our services back to the community as soon as it is safe to do so.

--ALL VOLUNTEERING AT CEDAR BEND HUMANE SOCIETY IS CLOSED--
For the safety of the staff, volunteers, public, and all of the animals in our care, we have made the decision to close our volunteer program. This will be reassessed after the new year.
Due to a large amount of interest and inability to safely social distance during training, Cedar Bend Humane Society has made the decision to postpone our new volunteer orientation and yearly training until at least April 1st, 2021.
Individuals interested in joining the volunteer program are encouraged to submit an application to receive email notifications when the training dates have been rescheduled.
Volunteers can participate remotely in future adoption promotions and fundraisers. Please watch your email for updates and the volunteer calendar for sign-ups!
Donations are still desperately needed! Our online wish list and Amazon wish list has been updated with current high priority items. Donations can be left safely inside our entry-way of the adoption building during normal business hours.
>>> Financial donations for vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, deworming medicine, and medical care for any sick or injured pet that comes into the shelter is the top priority!
If you require a donation receipt at this time, please email CedarBendMarketing@gmail.com to have one sent electronically.
CAN & BOTTLE DONATIONS
Can and bottle collection has restarted!
>>> An alternate dropoff location is at Metro Area Redemption in Cedar Falls to assist us in keeping up with sorting the donations.
We are incredibly thankful to receive can & bottle donations. Thousands of dollars are raised each year that goes directly towards the care of the thousands of animals that need our help.
...But sorting the donations can be a sticky problem. We appreciate your thoughtfulness in making sure the process goes as smoothly as possible!
We are asking to please follow these guidelines when dropping off can & bottle donations:
🐾 Separate by type, if possible
🐾 Remove any trash, food, or miscellaneous items
🐾 Include only recyclable containers (no water bottles!)
🐾 Set glass containers on the ground in front of the fence cage

We're Here to Help
It is our top priority to make sure we are able to continue to care for all of the needy animals in our community, and that care extends to our pet-owning families.
>>> If you find yourself in an emergency situation with your pet or are experiencing financial hardships and struggling to afford pet food, please contact CBHS at 319-232-6887 to see if we can be of any assistance.
From all of us at Cedar Bend Humane Society, we hope that you and your family are staying safe during this difficult time. Please watch our social media outlets and website for future updates. We appreciate your patience and support. We could not do this without you.
