Are your children looking for some extra practice expanding their reading skills? Look no further! CBHS is unveiling a fun new program where children ages 6-12 have the opportunity to grab a book and read out loud to a shelter dog. This has been shown to benefit both the children, who are sharpening their reading skills, and the shelter dogs needing socialization while awaiting their new homes.
This program will be offered Sunday, May 7th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Twenty minute reading times are available between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Barking Book Buddies can accommodate 24 children over that time period.
If you are interested click here to fill out an online application
and schedule your reading time. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please call 319-232-6887.
Books will be provided or participants are able to bring their own.
