Animal Control

Animal ControlOur Animal Control Officers provide public safety services such as cruelty and neglect investigations, animal rescues, stray captures, wildlife aid, and dangerous animals containment.

Animal Control Officers are on the streets patrolling and responding to calls from 8am until 8pm seven days a week. One officer is on call overnight in case of emergencies. This officer will respond to reports of dangerous animals, dog bites, strays running at large, and sick or injured animals. Animals in immediate distress take precedence over barking dogs and nuisance wildlife.  However, every situation or incident involving an animal in need is important to us. We rely on community members to alert us when they see stray, mistreated, or unhealthy animals.

You may contact us at 319-235-5335 between the hours of 8am-8pm seven days a week.

After hours emergency number is 319-415-9800.
